letty/mia fic recs!

escritoireazul's Mia/Letty manifesto.
rsadelle's Portrayals of women in the first eight Fast and Furious movies, which I'm counting, and I'll also include these two posts about the first movie and escritoireazul's recap here.
I think this might be my favorite of the Letty-comes-back-after-the-first-movie fic. Letty feels very, I don't know, Letty, and the way she takes care of Mia is just the right mix of sweet and rough around the edges.
Letty feels hot, fire beneath her skin. It's weird, Brian was always cool, like sunsets and lemonade, like nothing could touch him.

Ceares:
SC182's Live Fast, Die Young (Bad Girls): three-part series, Hands Up, Hands Tied → Cover Me, Changing Lanes →You Always Live Again.
These are more Mia-centric than Letty/Mia - Letty only appears in Mia's imagination in the second and third stories, and the third is actually Mia/Gisele. The world needs more Mia fic, though, and this is an interesting take - it's a Mia who's much more involved in the planning, and then a Mia who leaves and starts her own life south of the border.
“Then,” Letty’s voice hisses low, switching on all those parts that Mia’s tried to suppress, “test it, genius. See it for yourself: are you flash or fire.”
trancer's Like the Moon.
An interesting one - I think it's set around the time of the first movie, but as far as I can tell, none of those events have happened. Sex on the beach with a lot left unsaid.
“I’d rather have cash.” She brushes the backs of her fingers across Letty’s lips. Letty slides out her tongue and tastes the salt on Mia’s skin. “You’re leaving again, aren’t you?”
turnonmyheels' Flowers Can Grow Between the Cracks in the Sidewalk.
I've gone back and forth on this one and in the end I think I like it. It's another Letty-comes-back fic (in this one, she's been in prison), and she's prickly and Mia's brittle and they push each other's buttons in a way that feels realistic. Things work out, though.
She wasn't going to let Letty get under her skin. She was going to take her home, share her house with her until she got back on her feet, and then that would be that.
APgeeksout's Bright as the Sun, Bold as the Moon.
I usually bounce hard off of second-person, but this one's short and it works pretty well. A moment between Mia and Letty (Mia and you?) set during the fourth movie.
You don't know when you'll have more family than just each other again.
thedeadparrot's Not Something You Take. Second installment of A Reason to Hold On.
This is OT4 in the sedoretu model, set during the seventh movie, and has some nice moments of recovery and rediscovery. There's a little bit of Letty/Mia in the first story as well, especially the first two chapters, but it's from Dom's POV and Letty spends a lot of it dead.
"You remember this, right?" Mia asks. She smiles exactly the same as she did back then, sharp and a little wicked, and it's good to know that motherhood hasn't changed her that much.
this_world_of_beautiful_monsters' On Missing Strangers and Loving Ghosts. Chapter in a multifandom compilation.
This has Mia meeting amnesiac Letty while Letty's still working for Shaw (with past Letty/Mia), which I love as a premise and wish there was more of. Unedited, but packs a lot into three hundred words.
“My name’s Mia,” the woman says, raising shaking hands. “Do you remember me?”
Good, rough, conflicted sex, a little cruel - not really hate sex, but Letty's back and there's a lot of history between them.
They did something like this when they were teenagers, girls trying to kiss or whatever.
nikitangel:
nifra-idril's Translation (working title).
This is pre-slash, and also a real testament to how much time I've spent trawling LiveJournal. Another Letty-comes-home fic. The characterization is great, and even though it's unfinished, I think you can imagine how things might work out.
“Fuck that, Mia,” she said again, low, fierce. “You’re the only one who didn’t do a damned thing wrong.”
rsadelle (see above) has a tiny snippet here!
This is my most recent find. It's first-person, if that's a deal-breaker, but it's a fun take on Mia that gives her some bite. It's set after the first movie and she doesn't seem particularly torn up about what's happened, which is kind of refreshing.
Dom’s gone now. We’ll meet up again I’m sure, though I don’t know where and I don’t know when and until then it's just Letty and me headed down South to Cozumel for a little fun in the sun.
CaseyWolfe's Take Me or Leave Me.
Bonuses: thedevilchicken's A More Perfect World, which is Letty & Mia, which is honestly also pretty rare. Also, this fic on fanfiction.net, which is, like, ridiculous platonic smarm prefaced by a disclaimer that Letty and Mia are NOT "going all out lesbian."
Other Fast & Furious femslash:
Eshusplayground's La Commedia D'Amore (Working Title) (Letty/Gisele).
This is incomplete and discontinued as far as I can tell, which is too bad because now it ends on a cliffhanger and because there's really not enough Letty/Gisele out there. The prose here is beautiful, and the early scenes where a conflicted Gisele's on the run with an amnesiac Letty are fantastic.
Gisele’s thumb gently slides back and forth across that sensitive spot between her thumb and forefinger, and Letty’s chest suddenly feels heavy and light at the same time.
atlantisairlock's drug lust (Letty/Cipher, unrequited Letty/Mia).
SO GOOD. Cipher does not do it for me in the slightest and this is still SO GOOD. Fantastic hot hate sex on the submarine during Fast X.
“Fuck no,” Letty hears, and the next moment she’s gagging on Cipher’s fingers in her mouth, choking on air. “Eyes open, you’re not thinking about some other bitch while I’m fucking you.”
Crossover femslash:
Ceares' The Lucky and the Strong (Letty/Billie Chambers). Fastlane crossover. What it is.
escritoireazul's We Live It, We Breathe It. Also here (LJ). BtVS crossover with current Faith/Letty and past Letty/Dom and Letty/Mia. Really, really good, even if it makes me sad for Mia.
escritoireazul's No Monster at My Door (Mia/Lex Murphy). Jurassic Park Original Trilogy crossover. It's soft and sweet and surprisingly believable, considering, you know, the dinosaur thing.
sparrowshellcat's City of the Angels (Mia/Jo Harvelle). Supernatural crossover. Mia spends a lot of this fic naked and covered in blood, and I'm not complaining.
Bonus: trancer's The Michelle Rodriguez School of Pimpin’ and General Bad-Assery and its sequel, Hard Ticket to Hawaii (both Michelle/Jordana). These are just very extremely fun. It's the apocalypse! Paul Walker's already dead when the fic begins! Jordana does a striptease to Ginuwine's "Pony!" They also fuck Yvonne Strahovski, if you were really into Chuck.
currently trying to track down: Fish Gotta Swim and Aliyah, by reinadefuego. also searching through old femslash archives. as always, though, the pickings are slim.

rsadelle's Portrayals of women in the first eight Fast and Furious movies, which I'm counting, and I'll also include these two posts about the first movie and escritoireazul's recap here.
AO3 fic:
rsadelle:Exactly what it sounds like. Letty and Dom are together; Mia doesn't care. A neat little fic from Dom's POV set before the events of the first movie (and the oldest Letty/Mia fic I've found - this was written in the fall of 2001).
"Sure." He leaned back against the counter and crossed his arms over his chest. "Why are you fucking my girlfriend?"
This isn't really femslash, but I think it's a really lovely, subtle look at the ways in which Mia and Letty understand each other. It's set post-Fast Five, but it was written before the sixth movie came out, so there's no amnesia.
Mia thinks about all the things she knows have happened to Letty, and all the things she doesn't.
dirty_diana's Red Sky at Night. Also here (DW) and here (LJ).Mia thinks about all the things she knows have happened to Letty, and all the things she doesn't.
I think this might be my favorite of the Letty-comes-back-after-the-first-movie fic. Letty feels very, I don't know, Letty, and the way she takes care of Mia is just the right mix of sweet and rough around the edges.
Letty feels hot, fire beneath her skin. It's weird, Brian was always cool, like sunsets and lemonade, like nothing could touch him.
escritoireazul:
afternoon siesta (minus the sleep). Also here (LJ).
I like pretty much everything escritoireazul's ever written. This maybe isn't my absolute favorite, but it's still solid porn without plot! It's set before the first movie. Mia's in charge and I appreciate it for that reason.
Her eyes half-shut into slits, but she could still see Mia's wicked grin, so unlike her normal sweet smile.
Her eyes half-shut into slits, but she could still see Mia's wicked grin, so unlike her normal sweet smile.
Laundry Day (Extended Version). Also here (LJ).
Another pre-first movie PWP, maybe set in the same timeline as afternoon siesta. I really like this one. Short, sweet, hot, and I think about Mia sitting on the washing machine in her black bra with a rip in the back all the time.
"You gotta relax sometimes." Letty's voice goes rougher, and she pushes away from the edge of the wall, saunters up to Mia.

Goddamn Golden Boy. Also here (LJ).
escritoireazul does both one-sided attraction and smouldering jealousy really, really well. This is first-movie fic from Letty's POV - knowing Mia's gotten together with Brian, knowing that maybe part of Dom wants to. Completely note-perfect Letty.
Mia doesn't even try to hide it when she comes in smelling of sweat and sex, she just goes straight to the shower and after she's done, she smells like coconut shampoo again, like normal, except things aren't and that's just one more thing Letty can't control.

Damage Done. Also here (LJ).
What I said above about one-sided attraction, but here, it's the other way around. Really good, plausible Mia, and I think you understand exactly what she wants from Letty. Subtly heartbreaking.
“You’re better than them,” Mia hears herself say. She takes another gulp, and it’s so sweet and cold it burns her throat.

Like Gravity: three-part series, land meets water meets sky → like a star across the sky → the moon and the sea the only constant. Also here, here, and here respectively (all LJ).
The middle fic in this series is heaviest on the Letty/Mia - the first is Letty's thoughts while on the run with Dom after the first movie, the second is Letty coming home, and the third is from Mia's POV after Letty's death, right up to the point where they learn she's still alive. For three relatively short fics, there's a lot of complicated history packed into these, and they're really wonderful.
Something Quite Like Home. Also here (LJ).
Pre-slash - Mia and Letty leave the state together after the first movie, and go to the library. This one has an interesting take on Letty, kind of different from anything else on this list except maybe the Letty in nikitangel's After. I like this fic a lot; it's very domestic without being cloying.
She's got her sunglasses and Mia's walking next to her and the soft thwap of her sandals is almost music, almost the rhythm of Letty's pulse.
One Girl Revolution. Also here (LJ) and podficced here (AO3). Multifandom drabbles.
Very short, but does everything it needs to do. (There's also some good Eden, Ana Lucia, and Nicki here, for the Michelle Rodriguez enjoyers.)
Mia’s touch is too gentle, but she can’t let her go. Not when she’s all Letty has left of her entire world, Toretto flesh and Toretto blood.

She blinks hard. She’s not going to cry. Letty doesn’t. She just gets things done.

sinuous_curve:
Waiting Down Below.
It's the most-kudosed fic in the tag for a reason. Everything sinuous_curve touches is gold. Scorching hot strap-on sex, crossdressing, perfect Mia, perfect Letty. It's also just very sweet and fun in a way that a lot of fourth-movie fic isn't, since so much of it is colored by the knowledge of what's about to happen to Letty.
Mia laughs. “You got something you want to do with that, boy?” She turns her head and manages an awkward kiss on corner of Letty’s mouth. “I like you like this.”
Such a Pretty Girl So Tired.
Waiting Down Below is a little more popular, but this is my favorite. It's another fourth-movie fic - Mia ties Letty's wrists to the rear-view mirror and fucks her with a screwdriver and the whole thing is just so delicious and they feel absolutely real. sinuous_curve's Mia accepts Letty for who she is completely without being passive, which is a fine line to tread.
“Fuck you,” Mia says without heat. She holds out her hand. “Come here.”

Something of Her Own. Also here (DW), here (LJ), and translated into French here by SankaMalfoy.
This one has teeth; it's sort of hopeless in a nice way.
Letty is hers for six weeks and then Dom comes home off the circuit.
Lost and Found. Translated into French here by SankaMalfoy.
A short and sweet Letty-comes-back-from-the-dead fic - written before the sixth movie, so no amnesia. I always like when Letty chooses Mia over anyone else.
Mia can’t stop watching her, she’s almost afraid to. She’s never had a miracle standing right in front of her.

After.
Letty, Mia, and Brian after the first movie, then just Letty and Mia. It's bittersweet, and like I said, Letty reminds me of the Letty in Something Quite Like Home. They're just trying to pull themselves together.
Brian sticks around for a month or two, unable to abandon a woman in need. Mia looks at him so pathetically that Letty can’t bring herself to kick him out; instead, she just waits.
Her Attention. BtVS crossover.
Faith hits on Mia; Mia gets flustered; Letty bristles, then hits on Faith. It's very fun, even if you end up feeling kind of sorry for Mia.
Letty had already snapped her gaze away. “You like hip-hop?” she said suddenly.
